Find out if the Atlantis Bahamas Day Pass is right for you

If exploring Atlantis is on your travel bucket list, you might be glad to know that yes, you can visit and explore Atlantis even if you aren’t staying there. You can welcome to enjoy the Atlantis property and all of its amazing water features by purchasing a Day Pass. Is the Atlantis Day Pass worth it? Let’s find out!

In my honest opinion, yes, the Atlantis Day Pass is worth it. Staying on-site at the resort would be best since access to Aquaventure is included with your stay, but if staying at the resort isn’t an option, purchasing a Day Pass is the next best thing.

Note that they only offer so many day passes per day for non-guests so if you know your travel dates, it’s best to purchase them early to avoid disappointment.

Spoiler alert: if you are travelling as a family, it’s going to be worth it to stay on-site instead of paying for individual Day Passes. You’ll end up saving money in the end. Staying in one of the Harbourside Villas would be ideal because they offer family rooms and you can cook some of your own meals.

Yes, I cut to the chase and let you know that the Atlantis day pass is worth it, but now I’ll get into the details of why it’s worth it and what it includes.

What does the Atlantis Day Pass include?

The Atlantis Day Pass allows you access to their Casino, the Crystal Court shops and the Marina Village. You are also welcome to explore the Atlantis beaches, all of the resort pools, Aquaventure Water Park, and The Dig Aquarium tour as well as the other Aquariums.

The major attraction, and likely the reason you’re looking into purchasing a Day Pass, is their water park. The largest in the Caribbean, Aquaventure is 141 acres of fun.

Aquaventure Water Park includes the following:

  • 9 waterslides
  • A lazy river tube ride
  • River rapids
  • Tube rides
  • Lagoons
  • 20 swimming areas
  • 14 unique pools

You can float on a tube along their lazy river, or kick it up a notch and try the rapids river. It’s a ton of fun but be warned, you will get knocked about. I was thrown out of my tube at one point, lol! The water slides run the gamut from chill to extreme as you slide through a shark tank or end in a cenote.

I believe that access to the Aquaventure Water Park makes the Atlantis Day Pass worth it and it’s only part of what’s included.

Since you get access to all of the Atlantis resort with your day pass, you can also take advantage of all of their epic photo spots, including the iconic rope bridge and their heart swing.

While the water slides, lagoon, aquarium and water activities are incredible, don’t worry that that’s all there is to do. You can spend a lot of time simply wandering the grounds, taking photos and taking in all of the incredible scenery and wildlife.

The Aquarium at Atlantis Bahamas

Aside from the Aquaventure water park, access to their immense Aquarium makes the Day Pass worth the cost. You could easily spend half a day simply wandering around the Aquarium and all of its exhibits.

With your Day Pass, you can explore their lagoons, caves, coral formations, and underwater ruins filled with exotic marine life. There’s even a cenote at the end of one of their water slides, the Power Tower.

From sharks, stingrays, and barracuda, to piranha, eels, and endangered alligators, Atlantis boasts the largest open-air marine habitat in the world. Atlantis is home to over 250 marine species.

How much does a Day Pass to Atlantis cost?

The cost of an Atlantis Day Pass varies depending on the date and season you will be visiting. The basic Day Pass starts at $95 USD for kids and $190 USD for adults and children under the age of 3 years old are free.

Keep in mind that these prices may change depending on your travel dates. I did a quick search just before publishing this post and at the time of writing the cost for an adult is $250 USD and for children is $125 USD. It’s high season so prices may be lower when you check. For current rates, click the link below.

When purchasing your Day Passes, I recommend booking directly on the Atlantis website as they have a best-price guarantee. The link above in the blue box will direct you straight to their website for the best available prices and offers.

Considering that you can easily spend several days at Atlantis exploring everything it has to offer, I think the cost of the Day Pass is worth it. Going to Disneyland will cost you about the same for a day and I think Atlantis is equally as fun. Albeit a different kind of fun, but fun all the same and I love Disney!

An Atlantis Day Pass is worth it to see The Dig Aquarium

Atlantis offers a wide variety of other aquatic adventures for an additional fee. You can swim with the dolphins or sea lions, go stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling and much more.

With your Atlantis Day Pass, you can visit the dolphin area and watch them swim and do tricks from afar. You can’t get very close to the dolphins, but it’s fun to watch them play with their trainers.

When to purchase the Atlantis Day Pass

You must purchase your Atlantis Day Pass in advance. Don’t just show up and expect to be able to get in as you may end up very disappointed. Their website clearly states that you must purchase your tickets in advance.

Not only do you have to purchase your passes in advance, but they do sell out during busy times so don’t wait too long if you plan to visit during peak season.

Can you get into Atlantis without staying there?

You may be wondering if you can get into Atlantis for free. And the answer is that no, you can’t. At least, not really. The only way to get into Atlantis Bahamas without staying there is to purchase a day pass. You can’t visit for free or simply walk around to check it out.

I have read reports online that you can walk around the casino and visit the restaurants without a day pass, but having been a guest there, I can assure you that you will need to be a registered guest or have a day pass to visit the Aquaventure Water Park and the rest of the resort facilities.

Some people may have lucked out and gotten into the Atlantis property without staying there, but security does keep an eye out so I’d say it’s very unlikely you’d get too far.

Can you do Atlantis in a day?

If you purchase a day pass to Atlantis, you can see it all in one day. You’re going to busy, but it’s possible! There is a lot to see and do in Atlantis in one day, but if that’s all you have, I’d still say go for it.
