The Evolution of Las Vegas Attractions

Las Vegas has always been synonymous with entertainment and excess. But over the years, the city has evolved to offer visitors a diverse range of attractions. From the early days of mob-run casinos to the emergence of mega-resorts, Las Vegas has constantly reinvented itself to stay ahead of the curve.

Today, the city is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and innovation, with a host of new attractions that push the boundaries of what’s possible.

One notable example of this evolution is the rise of virtual reality experiences in Las Vegas. Gone are the days of traditional arcade games and roller coasters. Now, visitors can step into a whole new world with immersive VR experiences that transport them to different dimensions and challenge their senses.

From VR escape rooms to simulated skydiving, Las Vegas offers an array of mind-blowing virtual reality adventures that will leave you questioning what’s real and what’s not. I’ve been skydiving in Cabo and on Vancouver Island, but I have yet to try simulated skydiving. You know it’s on my list for my next visit!

But it’s not just technology that has transformed Las Vegas attractions. The city has also become a hub for art and culture. It has stunning installations and exhibitions popping up all over town.

One of the most talked-about attractions is Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart. This mind-bending art experience blurs the line between reality and fantasy. With its interactive exhibits and hidden passages, Omega Mart takes visitors on a surreal journey through a whimsical supermarket like no other.

The Newest Attractions in Las Vegas

As Las Vegas continues to evolve, new attractions are constantly being added to the city’s already impressive lineup. From jaw-dropping thrill rides to awe-inspiring performances, there’s something for everyone in this ever-changing playground.

If you’re a thrill-seeker, you won’t want to miss the newest addition to the Las Vegas skyline: the FlyOver Las Vegas. This state-of-the-art flying theatre takes you on a breathtaking virtual flight over some of the most iconic landmarks in the United States.

Strap in and soar over the Grand Canyon, glide through the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip, and feel the rush of wind as you zip past the towering skyscrapers of New York City. It’s an experience that will leave you breathless and wanting more.

One such establishment is Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, a restaurant inspired by the hit TV show. Here, you can indulge in exquisite dishes prepared by the master himself, while enjoying the showmanship and drama that Gordon Ramsay is known for. From mouth-watering steaks to decadent desserts, this is a dining experience like no other.

Newest Dining in Las Vegas

For those with a taste for the finer things in life, Las Vegas doesn’t disappoint. The city is a culinary paradise, with world-renowned chefs opening up restaurants that push the boundaries of gastronomy.

Located in the Green Fairy Garden of Spiegelworld’s hit show Absinthe is No Pants. This restaurant offers elevated circus food including exceptional smash burgers, vegan smash burgers, and star-shaped tots. The concept, which just opened in April 2023, celebrates the elation and freedom of life without pants.

The burger features a soft pretzel bun layered with two short-rib blended brisket patties. It’s smashed with grilled onions that are charred and caramelized, and topped with melted American cheese, tangy sauce, and thick-cut dill pickles. The vegan version subs for Impossible Smash burgers and vegan cheese.

Dubbed Italian American Psychedelic, Superfrico at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas combines a treasure-trove of Sicilian family heirloom recipes with a fearless detour of flavours. It’s meant to be served alongside creative cocktails, original art, and stealthy #vegashitshow entertainment.

Superfrico is the first fully integrated dining and cocktail concept by Spiegelworld, the audacious entertainment trailblazer. The all-night establishment breaks down the walls between fine dining and the anything-goes, submersive experiences that Las Vegas visitors crave.

Newest Bars in Las Vegas

Pier 17 Yacht Club – Pier 17 Yacht Club is the breezy speakeasy bar hidden inside the Green Fairy Garden at Absinthe. With a swanky indoor cabin and secluded outdoor lounge deck, the bar honours Spiegelworld’s origins when Absinthe premiered in a Spiegeltent at the end of a pier on the East River by the Brooklyn Bridge.

Savour commodore-approved cocktails, exclusive to the club, or order a No Pants burger. Pier 17 is also the only place where guests can elevate No Pants star tots to Yacht Tots. These bougie gems are topped with Trout Roe or Oscietra Caviar.

Ski Lodge: Tucked away on Level 2 of the Chelsea Tower inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the unmarked Ski Lodge requires a sense of adventure (or a bit of insider knowledge) to find.

Once inside, guests are transported to a wintry parallel universe where the lights are always low, the pizza, drinks and good times flow and every day is a snow day. Beyond its wildly immersive winter cabin aesthetic, the Ski Lodge boasts Las Vegas’s most sophisticated (and delicious) cocktail and pizza offerings.

The cocktail program, overseen by Spiegelworld’s Executive of Beverage, Niko Novick, is a spirited mix of elevated classics and seasonally-inspired rotating classics while the signature frico-crusted square pizzas come courtesy of Executive Chef Mitch Emge.

Must-Visit Attractions in Las Vegas

Now that we’ve covered the newest attractions in Las Vegas, I’m going to cover a few must-dos if it’s your first time visiting Sin City. No visit to Las Vegas would be complete without checking out some of the city’s must-visit attractions.

While the newest additions are certainly worth exploring, there are a few iconic attractions that have stood the test of time. One such attraction is the Bellagio Fountains, a mesmerizing water show that combines music, lights, and choreographed jets of water.

Located in front of the Bellagio Hotel, this free attraction is a must-see for visitors of all ages. Be sure to catch one of the nightly performances, where the fountains come alive with a symphony of movement and colour.

Another must-visit attraction is the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel. Standing at a towering 550 feet, this giant Ferris wheel offers unparalleled views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding desert landscape.

Hop aboard one of the spacious cabins and take a leisurely spin as you soak in the breathtaking vistas below. For an extra special experience, consider booking a private cabin with a bartender to enjoy a drink while you take in the view. We did this for my girlfriend’s stagette party and we had a blast!

Insider Tips for Visiting Las Vegas Attractions

When planning your visit to Las Vegas attractions, there are a few insider tips that can help you make the most of your experience. First and foremost, be sure to check for any discounts or promotions before purchasing tickets.

Many attractions offer special deals for online bookings or during off-peak hours, so take advantage of these opportunities to save some money.

Another tip is to plan your itinerary strategically. Las Vegas can be overwhelming with its multitude of attractions, so it’s important to prioritize what you want to see and do.

Make a list of must-visit attractions and allocate enough time for each one. It’s also a good idea to check the opening hours of each attraction, as some may have limited operating hours or require advanced reservations.

Lastly, don’t forget to dress comfortably and stay hydrated. Las Vegas can get hot, especially during the summer months, so be sure to wear lightweight clothing and bring a water bottle with you.

Comfortable shoes are also a must, as you’ll likely be doing a lot of walking between attractions. I’ve walked the strip in 4″ heels and I don’t recommend it. Wear your cute flats and thank me later.
