Brace yourself for the chill of winter with the ultimate cold weather companion – the heated vest.

With winter’s shorter days and cooler temperatures, staying warm becomes a top priority. I don’t know about you, but I hate being cold. That’s why it’s important to always dress for the weather, especially in the winter months.

This is where the heated vest comes in. It’s a game-changer that combines innovative technology with fashion-forward design. This is my first winter with one and I love it! I also have heated gloves and they are fantastic for winter activities such as snowboarding.

I wore my heated gloves snowboarding on Mt. Baker earlier this year and when the temperature dropped to minus 10 at the end of the day my heated gloves were a lifesaver. I’m so glad I was wearing them. I guarantee you that I wouldn’t have been smiling in the picture below without them.

Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast like me, a commuter braving the elements, or simply someone who despises the cold, a heated vest is a must-have winter essential. I’m obsessed with mine.

Embrace the winter chill with heated clothing and accessories

Imagine a cozy, customized warmth wrapping around your core, no matter where your day takes you. With adjustable heat settings and rechargeable batteries, you can control the temperature and stay cozy for hours on end.

Gone are the days when layering meant sacrificing style. The sleek and slim design of these vests ensures that you stay fashionable while being comfortable.

So whether you’re hitting the slopes, attending outdoor events, or just running errands, a heated vest will keep you warm without compromising your look of the day.

If you’re envisioning a giant, puffy vest, don’t. Heated clothing today is very sleek and not bulky at all. My vest fits underneath all of my coats and even travels well. It folds up easily and takes up almost no space at all in a suitcase. I brought it to Montana with me and it took up way less space than a heavy sweater.

Just because it’s cold outside, don’t let the winter freeze your plans. Invest in a heated vest and experience the ultimate in comfort, functionality, and style this winter season. Stay warm, stay trendy, and enjoy your winter wonderland adventures like never before. I know I have been!

How to turn on your heated vest

There are different makes and models, but the Kemimoto vest and gloves that I have are very simple to turn on. Once you have the batteries connected, you simply push the squares underneath the logo on the front to turn them on. You will immediately know that it’s on because the square will change colour.

I have the Kemimoto Heated Vest With a Heated Hood. Mine has three different heat settings and they are very easy to see. As pictured below, you can see that one of the squares is red. This is the hot heat setting for the body of the vest. To turn it down, I would press the button again and it would turn a light blue for a medium setting. On its coolest setting, the square will turn bright blue.

You will notice that there are two different squares pictured above and only one is red. The square on the right-hand side manages the heat for the body of the vest. Whereas the square on the left manages the heat for the hood.

Different makes and models have different buttons so be sure to read the instruction booklet that comes with your heated apparel.

Different types of heated vests

Heated vests come in various styles and designs, catering to different needs and preferences. Whether you’re looking for a vest for outdoor activities or a more fashionable option for everyday wear, there’s a heated vest that’s perfect for you.

Factors to consider when buying one

When it comes to buying a heated vest, there are several factors to consider to ensure you find the perfect fit for your needs. Firstly, you’ll want to look at the material of the vest. Opt for a high-quality fabric that is not only durable but also provides insulation to keep you warm.

Another important aspect to consider is the heating technology used in the vest. Different brands may use different methods, such as carbon fibre or heating coils, to distribute heat evenly throughout the garment. Do your research and choose a vest that uses a reliable and efficient heating system.

The battery life of the heated vest is also crucial. You don’t want to constantly worry about running out of power during outdoor adventures. Look for vests with long-lasting rechargeable batteries that can keep you warm for hours on end. Additionally, consider the charging time and whether the vest comes with a portable charger for convenience.

Lastly, don’t forget about the fit and style of the vest. A well-fitted vest will provide maximum comfort and allow for easy movement. Look for adjustable features, such as a drawstring or elastic waistband, to customize the fit to your liking. As for style, choose a vest that complements your personal taste and can be easily layered with your existing winter wardrobe.

As shown above, I find it very easy to style my heated vest in a way that doesn’t feel too utilitarian. Its sleek style makes it easy to layer. In the image above, I was headed out to explore Missoula, Montana in November and it was very cold outside. My vest kept me toasty warm.

How to properly care for and maintain heated clothing

To ensure the longevity of your heated vest, proper care and maintenance are essential. Before cleaning your vest, always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions as different models may have specific care requirements.

In most cases, however, you can safely hand wash your heated vest using mild detergent and cold water. Just make sure you carefully remove the battery before you wash your vest!

Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach, as this can damage the heating elements. Gently squeeze out excess water and lay the vest flat to dry. Avoid wringing or twisting the vest to prevent any damage to the internal wiring. And don’t put it in the dryer.

When not in use, it’s important to store your heated vest properly. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any potential damage. Folding the vest neatly or hanging it up on a padded hanger will help maintain its shape.

Regularly inspect the wiring and connections to ensure there are no frayed or damaged areas. If you notice any defects, it’s best to contact the manufacturer or a professional to assess and repair the issue.

Taking these precautions will help prolong the lifespan of your heated vest and ensure it continues to provide optimal warmth.

I wore my heated gloves snowboarding and they are the best thing ever! My hands are the one part of my body that will often get cold while riding, but not anymore.

The battery is very easy to charge and plug into my vest. It has its own pocket so I can still use both pockets without worrying about the battery falling out or getting unplugged.

The vest’s battery life is up to 10 hours and that is more than I hope to ever need. I am very happy with both my Kemimoto heated vest and gloves and highly recommend them both to anyone who dislikes being cold in the winter.
