Toasting Festive Moments with BC Wines For The Holidays
The holidays are fast approaching (how did this happen?!) This season is all about warmth, togetherness and celebrating the moments that truly matter. And honestly, nothing brings people together quite like opening a great bottle.
If you’re on the hunt for wines for the holidays that feel festive and crowd-pleasing, I’ve rounded up a few favourites that deserve a spot at your table this year.
I’m all about supporting local this season, and since I live in BC, I’m focusing on local, BC wines for the holidays this year.
Slow Down, Sip, and Actually Be Present This Holiday Season
I am more about ‘presence’ than ‘presents,’ and this time of year is no exception. Don’t get me wrong, my family still enjoys exchanging stockings on Christmas morning.
My inner child won’t let that tradition go, lol! But other than those fun, small gifts, I prefer to give and receive experiences. And not just over the holidays, all year long.

My partner and I will be heading up to Whistler to enjoy a snowboarding trip instead of exchanging presents. We will share time quality on the slopes. We’ll cheers our après drinks around a fire pit table at Black’s Pub (our fave spot for après in the village).
Then we will indulge in a fabulous dinner in Whistler Village before I curl up with a glass of wine to wind down for the evening. Time together is the best gift a girl could ask for.
Raising a Glass to the Spirit of Connection
This spirit of connection is something the BC wine community knows deeply. After years of weathering challenges, BC wineries have shown incredible resilience.
They continue crafting wines that reflect not just the land but the strength and passion of the wonderful people behind the winemaking.
You all know how much I love wine. This holiday season, I’m raising a toast to that spirit, to them, and to bringing the taste of BC’s Okanagan Valley to your table.
Whether it’s a cozy dinner, a big party, or a quiet evening with loved ones around the fireplace, these exceptional BC wines are made to complement every occasion and every story shared around the table.
They also remind us what resilience and hope taste like. And that’s a great vibe to bring into 2026!

Ryan McKibbon, the Head Winemaker at Black Hills Estate Winery, shares his thoughts on their beloved Nota Bene wine below.
“We approached the 2022 harvest with some apprehension. We were looking at a generous crop of late-ripening reds at the end of a cool, wet growing season. Fortunately, the season shifted in our favour: ample sunshine and ideal warmth carried us through the close of summer and well into early autumn.
What followed was a slower, more measured ripening than we typically experience—sugars rose steadily, acidity remained vibrant, tannins softened, and concentration deepened. The result is a standout vintage of Nota Bene marked by elegance: a finely tuned balance of ripe fruit, bright structure, and polished tannins.”
